ok, me & the missus have started looking at housemakers here in Japan. I've read basically everything that's been written in English about the various housemakers, so now I'm just checking what you guys have heard. Also, a thread like this should get lots of hits from searches he he he
We're looking at sweden house, selco, sanwa and mitsui.
Selco seems good but there only seems to be one guy where we are and he is a bit of a tool. We dread having to talk to him....so they are in last place right now.
Sweden seems great but pricey. Also, the wood frames on the windows need maintenance every 3 to 5 years.
Sanwa has lots of 'tech' but it's a japanese company so don't really trust them. Also they don't have pamphlets with lots of photos so it's hard to visualize what they can do. They just say 'tell us what you want and we can build it'. hmmmm
Mitsui is another Japanese 'can build anything' company. Not really stoked on them but they are just there to round it out to an even number. I read sekisui somewhere so I'll check them out too. damn that makes 5. I guess we'll give sweden house a bye.
