Dizzy, Dizzy, Dizzy what are we gonna do with you?  Sucks to hear about your accident, especially considering how badly a guy like you must need strong healthy wrists, but when are you gonna learn to just leave the cool/fun stuff to the skiers.   However, you’ve managed to heal up from everything else and not quit the sport yet, so I’m sure that you’ll recover from this and be back on the board in no time.  Let me know when you are well enough to do a train game night and I'll sign your cast before you head back to the motherland.

This is one of the worst runs of luck. At least it doesnt effect the riding too much. The wrist should be strong by the time you can get out there.

jesus, if chicks really do dig scars then Diz is gonna to be up to his eyeballs in pvssy.  you'll be fine before winter though bro... just get some hockey tape and tape your wrists from now on.  i broke mine twice and that shit saves me from my limpwristed fate of breaking them again.

ask the docs for Ocycotin/Hyrdocodones and youll feel muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch bettah! I thought I was having a bad year...1 broken tailbone and roughly 6 cracked ribs. Fuck this has sucked. Havent been healthy since April 29th...guess it could be worse.

went to the dr. yesterday, stitches came out. found a third fracture in my scaphoid (wrist) bone, the same in my left wrist from five years ago. this fracture takes about a week to show up in x-ray.so, that coupled with the Colles fracture (fractured radius and ulna), i go under the knife on friday. a screw on the scaphoid, a plate on the radius go on then, and come off hopefully in 6 weeks. the other option was cast for 12-16 weeks and hope the bones fix themselves. that was an easy decision.

Mr. Cuge, i have to cancel the photo gallery outing; i get released from hospital monday or tuesday. the last day is sunday.

i'll get a new cast after the op. will need new stickers!

the grey thing is duck tape akane and i made. it holds my train pass, ID, etc. very conbini.everyone at work who's seen the PN sticker asked about it and then laughed

I dint know Archteryx makes casts, did you get that from backcountry?

Now that’s what I call a broken wrist!  Does that cast go right up to your neck or what?!  All the best with the surgery.  By the way, I’ve seen a “documentary” or two on the medical care community and I think you are really, really, really going to enjoy those cute little Japanese nurses. 

Just make sure akane is not around when you ask the nurse to help you pee.

....and if she tries to give you a "zayaku" you say NO.  i learned what "zayaku" meant the hard way.

That dry heaving shit sucks; and your F'ing throat hurts from having that tube shoved down it Is Icecream here tabehoudai like it was stateside post-op? Have a speedy recovery dizzy! You still got 3 months before season truly is underway - at least for us mere mortals who live far away. You'll be back soon man!

thx everyone, discharged from the hospital this morning.had regional nerve block--they pinch a nerve, inject it w/ something and the arm goes numb. no pain. no catheter. friday night sucked, but yesterday and today the pain has gone down. Mr. and Mrs. Cugehock, thx for offering to come visit this morning, but today was my discharge day anyway. will have to visit after akane and i get back from the states--we leave on friday and drive to wisconsin the week after.

ft--season should be fine. the plate and cast come off in 6 weeks, then physical therapy for the wrist.

thx for asking. the cast came off two weeks ago. i had a split secured by gauze for a week.now my arm is free!!! the scar is thin and there's no pain. just stiff on humid and rain days and in the morning.

i started rehab stretching and breathing helps bestwinter will be good!

Good luck Dizzy! My parents were shocked to hear how fucked up you got this year. They say to take it easy and stop getting hurt!
