ok what's the skinny on Google Earth and the Japanese Alps? If i subscribe to Google Earth Plus or Google Earth Pro do i get better photos of Hakuba? Or is it just a matter of time?
I have quite a lot of free time now. I could build wiki pretty easily before the season hits but i was thinking it might look better with interactive google earth than topo maps.
This is Manly Dam... my local XC track.

Buying the upgrade does not give better pics, only the ability to synch a gps unit. I think it is more a matter of time for Hakuba details to improve.
34 days on snow this season 55 days last season
Been shit for a long time now. Suck really.
it looks like all the imagery is run by private companies, i thought it was NASA... digitalglobe seems to be the main one and the main backbone for google earth. It looks like they're launching some new badass satellite in 2009 so maybe it is just a matter of time.
salty margaritas
From Tsugaike northwards is good but Hakuba looks like someone at Nasa vomited over the still after eating pink blancmange!
