the tuxedo is the jean jacket and jeans (best worn with a motor head t-shirt)... missing from the list and more fashionable in today's freeskiing community is the 'squamish dinner jacket', which is the quilted flannel jacket. Add a saggin toque and your ready for the show (that is whistler).
Here's an expression from Japanese that is spot on (& cracks me up everytime I think about it):
Chinge line - is a line left on a powder slope consisting of lots of small turns at irregular intervals. It's not pleasing to look at.
(Chinge translates to dick hair aka pubes)
I had a quick look on google but only came up with this:
these don't really count as chinge lines as they're not irregular (but you get the picture).
Old school was classic! So many turns cause that was all the gear let you do. You had to use so much energy to get down the hill.
Chinge is really a new word or phrase though it hasnt been around for as long as those types of turns have.
Paedde is the king of those turns every once in a while he will slap 50 of those down the fall line.
I dont like them but he is always all smiles so its kinda fun watching him get so stoked about old school.
I always referred to the Canadian tuxedo as just a 'jean tuxedo'.
