Its a bit of a trap for tourism but it is tough to deny the totally awesome-ness of this area in stinky old China. Other than the people looking for a dollar, rub and tugs and thumping techno, this place is a treasure. Sadly China has fucked this place up too but of course if you walk 20k out of the way, the garbage piles become less frequent.









I was told that they usually get a week of snow here, but in 2007 they got a month of snow. With a month of snow and a lucky cycle, it could easily become one of the greatest places on earth.

i was gonna read this thread until you totally dissed rub and tubs in the opening paragraph. at least they didn't pave the river yet. would be funky to someone trying to ride those nuggets.
