other mtb stuff too, not just the race
Hakuba needs some more red bull events.

^^^ I've riden/aired stairs on a bunch of different types of bikes but I have never pedaled much less thought about pedaling hard and trying to pass someone on stairs. Pretty sick race.

red bull is actually part of the promotion crew at this saturday's downhill race at hakuba 47. it isn't a full-on red bull event but it will still be sick.
if you want more events in hakuba you gotta help make the ones that take place successful.

An interesting article in relation to saprono's post....
it doesn't say anything about it but Crankworx started as a very very small race put on by locals and raced by locals. It was called Joyride, of course the folks at whistler forced out the originators but man has it grown...
The main diff is Whis had a die hard community of DH riders back then to give it a base, something this valley doesn't not have. I hope it changes but it seems to me this town has very little summer youth population and those are the folks that built the sport in Whistler. The bums who did care about 'living expenses' and just cared about building up a sick bike and park pass. The ones who sold the dream to the rest of Vancouver and the eventually the world.
I will not be around for the xsession but best of luck with it. I would be stoked to see some good tracks here.

it's good for the valley.
Anyone racing this weekend? I have yet to re-assmeble my DH bike and probably cannot.
74 days on snow this season 74 days last season
Im not.
I think a long travel bike is not the go for this course.
I think that pedaling is going to be important.

Since when do you have "long travel" bike?
One man wolfpack
I dont have one and I dont need one.
Im riding a vintage hardtail these days.
Ninja has a long travel transition bike but I dont think that it is the bike for this course.
