Peak to pub race - Mt Hutt NZ

Any Southern hemisphere ninjas heard of this new race? : "peak to pub" at Mt Hutt? Last year was the first year. Its a 2+ km downhill ski or board, a 19km downhill MTB on the Mt Hutt access road and a 11 km run to the Blue Pub in Methven in October. Seems to be a dream race (except for the running bit!)
Its the brain child of Multi-sportgod Steve Gurney.
I would do it if I still live down there.

I would agree that it sounds awesome except for the run. Chinese downhill on MTBs down a sketchy road sounds like mayhem in the making. This race does sound like just the thing for pinky, though...
34 days on snow this season 55 days last season
last time i was at Mt Hutt somebody drove off the access rd and died. we were stock on the mountain huddled in a little bar drinking til they winched out the car. nasty.
does sound like a good race. would do it if i was still down there, but alas...
