Well we have lift accessed MTBing in Hakuba.
Hakuba 47 put together 3 courses that are pretty good.
Still need some work but more than anything the courses
need to have riders to break in the trails.

You cant ski these trees but you can ride them!

Ninja hitting the steeper section

FT re learning how to jump a bike!

Ninja riding a berm

Ninja on a missed jump shot! FT messed the shot up. Notice the tire indentation it
was a wet muddy ride!

Ninja takes a better picture!

The jump park!

Ok here are my thoughts. Per usual 47 does a better job with seasons passes than happo
at anytime of the year. It was a painless process really. In and out the door in just over 5
minutes. Passes couldnt be made right away but dont worry just go ride with a day ticket,
painless and perfect. If it was happo I would have to yell at the same guy for the 10th time!
I bought my pass and want to use it. That old guy would say "sorry you must buy a day
pass!" We all know how this story goes, with happo. Fight for long enough and they
just say, "ok I give up, get out of here. Here is a day ticket." 47 bang on on this one keep the
customer happy from the start.

The Courses! They are new, very new. We have had a late rainy season here in Hakuba and that
isnt helping the trails. The berms were too soft but they got better as the day went on.
Ninja had a bad looking crash as a berm broke away on him. It wasnt the berms fault the rain
had damaged it! Also ninja had a bit too much confidence on that lower berm. All said he was
ok but it looked bad. The jumps were nice on the course good landings as well. most of the
terrain is on a decline so the natural landings are fine.

The forest course is pretty cool. Not super flowy but technical. Some nice jumps as well a bit
mucky but what can you expect after a full 5 days of rain. The step up jump into the forest is
fun. Cant wait to hit it when it isnt mucky! The trail down course is just a fire road but you can
go maching down that rode! Also half way down the rode you get sick long berms. most of the
berms are about 10 to 15 meters long. Ninja and me spotted one spot that could have a 40 meter
berm! If they build one there it would be sick.

My suggestions for the future. Make the berms bigger! They hold up better. I know that it is on the ski
field and if it isnt good for the runs just flatten the berms later. bigger berms will hold up much better.
Make more jumps! The jumps are fun but we need more. on a technical course with slower speeds id
love to have more jump features! On the fire road down, if it can be done make more berms! Those berms
were fun. Also some jump features maybe as well on the sides. People would have to slow down though.
Again this is the first year so I think it is pretty good.

Sick time though really fun and relaxed day in the sun!

Only 20000 yen for a summer seasons pass. lots of things to do at 47 like dry sliding and etc. Ill bring the kids up cause I have a pass. 47 has alot going on for young kids like fishing, bouncy air rooms, a mini rideable train
mini half pipe, patio for beer, bbq pits, shower climbing and kids jungle gyms. All in all best spot to take young kids for a picnic and some fun

I think the tickets are 3500

I think the tickets are 3500 and a season's pass is 20,000. 6 day payoff period is amongst the best season pass value I have ever encountered.

Actually, FT missed talking

Actually, FT missed talking about the gnarliest feature which is the stairs down from the gondola. It is a pretty steep and narrow down, flat down ride...

sounds fun. glad to hear the chairs are running in haks.

in regards to your review.... big berms wont mess up ski slopes, unless you only get a 1 foot of snow annually which I dont think is a problem in your parts.

what's the latest on happo? are they still looking to move on that DH track?
