Just a few pics from an outing last Sunday at one of the lesser known peaks down in Gifu Prefecture. As the title suggests, we kept to pretty mellow terrain but it was still a good day out.
Tele turns always get a decent part of the Sweetgrass movies, all though not as popular as MSP and TGR flix I would say they are major ski films esp. in japan.
Yeah, Snow Valley is closed due to a busted lift and no money to fix it. I've been down that way 3 times this season so far and have seen people skinning up the ski-jo on 2 occasions so I'm guessing they don't mind. Reckon you could get in a few laps and make a good day of it. The top two runs (A course/B course ?) and the trees between them were always good stuff when they were open for business and should be off the hook even better if you had them all to yourself.
Shinobi - if you do head over to Toga and wouldn't mind a little company, shoot me a PM - I'd be keen to hit it up as well. I've got 1 or 2 Sundays free this month and a few weekdays as well.
And in any case, might be best to avoid the 13th/ 14th weekend in Toga; pretty sure its the Soba Festival weekend.
Hey Tele, you wouldn't be interested in hitting gokurakuzaka tomorrow would you? thinking of going there instead of Hakuba. we seem to have gotten way more snow here
^^^ Sorry Shinobi, but work calls tommorow and Sat. I'm usually off Sun - Tues and sometimes Wed. Off the top of my head, best day for me might be the the 21st (Sun) or a Mon/Tues in the latter half of the month.

too bad. it was deep face shots today. plus found some sick new terrain
Mellow but schweet. Good stuff. I like tele turns and wonder why they never show up as a segment in any of the major ski films.
34 days on snow this season 55 days last season
