Yesterday was pretty stellar. There is a run I saw 1 year ago (as seen here) that I thought would be great for a party. It was a billy goatish - glide crack heaven. The thing with the slope is that it takes a certain weather pattern to get it going. I rode it for the first time just a month ago and it was totally different. Pretty much just smooth, steep gully/debris path snowboarding. So with a 2 week period of warm temps just passing- the slope changed. The snow literally cracked open crevasse like features and then a reasonable snow storm covered the cracks- just enough.
The result can be seen below. The killer thing is these cracks are only as deep as the snow pack. This particular run is stacked beyond imagination with party favors. It ends up forming one studly pillow-esque Q-bert fantasy world.
I finally got to do it yesterday and it was beyond my wildest snowboarding dreams. During this run I truelly believed this is what snowboarding (and life) was supposed to feel like. Actually I did for my other run too and again today for another run. March always feels good.

Tough to see a track in there but it starts up on that ridge peak and goes lookers right to the cracks, drifts to the lone tree in the center, down those pillows and then drifts right to the big island of trees and into the next path that runs out. The amount of air time in here was stellar.

At the final crossing I was looking for a fun'r exit then obvious when 2 Kamoshika caught my eye. One of them rages up this face, gets to the top, turns around looks at me and then decides to send it down the section pictured. I was blown away at his actions. He even left a sweet track.

As you can see it starts all rocky, then has a 2 step drop thing. It continued on past the bush for a bit. His friend was mellower (I suspect his lady) and continued upward. I've never seen an animal throw down like this.

I had so much stoke for this furry shred goat beast, that felt a need to capture his image for deeplikepow. But he was slippery and like a good shred shied away from the camera. Finally as I crossed the creek he popped his head out and made his way back uphill to his lady friend.

It was great with pleasure to watch.

Before the previous we explored a new area(to me). Here Nick skis this funnel for Marc's camera. I ventured further down the ridge, where a run so heavenly and exciting awaited. It was new to me and nearly every turn was met with a blind rollover. It ended in an air out which I ate shit on. I tried to be mad at my self but the line was so improv and awesome that I couldn't. Today I ventured back here with the HLP faithful and after a Mumie route AGAIN the same warm and giggly feeling of snowboarding hit me after my run. The last days have been fun and completely unexpected.

Ride new lines.

Who is whining? I just

Who is whining? I just commented on what it took to bring the snow. I actually had a pow day in sunny Alaska this morning with Hatori Hanzo so I am hardly complaining. I am on the web now trying to rent a snowmobile to sled ski tomorrow so we may raise the gnar bar up a notch.
