Was on the lift with a patrol guy the other day in Kagura and asked him if they were doing any avalanche work.
He said yes, "slope cutting".

A Japanese guy who helped translate a few leading avalanche books into Japanese and also interned last season with the CAA (in Canada). He knows his stuff. Or, its someone with exactly the same name.
