Not really a conditions thread but I think it goes in this forum. This past weekend we got about 18" of fresh snow. We have a really nasty rain crust from January that has facets growing both above and beneth the crust. This was a totally sympathetic fracture, I wanted to drop this slope and was digging a hand pit with my partner when it cracked loose about 15' away from where we were standing. Crown ranged from 12" - about 40" deep, probably about 200' wide. Pretty freaky to stand there and watch it all crumble only a few feet from where I was about to drop. As you can see its not steep at all but it did convex a bit and the slope that slid was unsupported with only a few ulders under it.
Some pix to share
you can see our tracks where we were digging a hand pit before it slid
not enough to burry you but enough to pachinko your ass through some trees

Whoops!
time to dig if you have facets and not just with your hands.
