Off Season Poaching

TR : Pointe de Buffere

Voie de l'eperon (aka S. Peguy), right variant in 5b (short section, most of it in 4+). With Lionel. Beautiful weather for alpine climbing. I am not much of a rock climber but this was a nice outing. This is normally a very quiet place but on that day a guide from La grave showed up with his daughter, so there were 4 of us total on the route. The lower section is actually the hardest one. There are pitons and spits at regular intervals, a few friends and slings will do the trick. Quite a few ledges along the way with relays allow for some relaxed breaks.

I heard JP is after a WC in 2018. Would be the radical.

Ride of the Lost

Anyone interested in a ride this weekend?

Loops from Hakuba to Kinasa to Hakuba.

Pedal from Station up to the 408 (45minutes of road)

Descends to Kinasa onsen (15-20 minutes of relaxing downhill winding road)

Some flats through the valley (5km)

Start uphill (maybe 1hour - maybe forever) < this is the lost part as I have not pieced this portion together yet but should be easy.

Hit the pass.

any one have some old rope ...

they want to donate to a trail?

Need about 25 to 40m

... in haks.

POW- Protect our Wummers

I have been having a pretty good summer riding a connection of trails on minegata inspite of last years trail building blunders, I had hope to include this section in my loop but the dolphin slaughter's's already got there.

Lift-serviced mountain biking in Hakuba

This summer Hakuba 47 will again offer lift-serviced downhill MTB to the public between July 16 and Sept 4.
A one-day lift pass is 3500 yen, season ticket is 20,000 yen. There is also a dirt jump park at the base which is free of charge.
H47 is one of the few ski resorts making an effort to support the sport of mountain biking in Japan.

A week in Fiji photo TR

The girl gives me a long leash and puts up with many lonely weekends during the winter season so inevidably I have to make up for that shit. I figured a week on a tropical island should do the trick.

Travel was brutal for me, I'm not a big fan of flying and it was nearly 24 hours door to door. Watching the sun rise over the clouds 30min outside Nadi airport was extremely refreshing.

Islands starting to come into view

TR: Room with a View

Last time I booked a room and specifically selected the 'room with view' I was in Guangzhou. Here was my view.

A couple of days ago I showed up with no reservation and would have been happy with just a bed with only a few rocks. I ended up with the only patch of 'midnight sand' for miles - and a view that made sleep seem senseless and a bag of mushrooms - priceless.
