Pine Ridge Resorts Kandatsu

This is just a test page to start.  My view is that the focus should be on the freeriding and poaching opportunities rather than how many lifts there are or how many green runs there are like other sites already do.

For instance:

Kandatsu is a small resort and at *** base elevation and *** peak, there is limited vertical  The effective vert is made all of the smaller by fact that there is only a cat track between the base lodge and the top of the first chair, making the Galleria restaurant at **m the effective base.  It is, however largely north facing and in a natural bowl so the snow is lighter and more plentiful than the other lower resorts in Yuzawa village.  It also has some of the steepest pitches in the Yuzawa area, hitting 45 degrees in some places.  While there is negligible backcountry opportunities at Kandatsu, there are some short but sweet poaching lines in the trees near the lift lines (Pine Ridge resorts is named so for a reason so watch for tree wells when poaching the trees!).

The other attraction of Pine Ridge Kandatsu is is well maintained park. On weekends and holidays there is a constant digger presence keeping the features in good shape. On the bigger kicker line (10m and 12m step-downs) there is a constant spotter as well. The whole park has good flow with ever changing jib setups through the season. For those trying to learn park, there is good progression with roller lines to the farthest left, medium features in the middle and large features to the left. There is no pipe and no truly advanced features.
